A minimum of two 2-way-portable radiotelephone apparatus for each fire party for fire-fighter’s communication shall be carried onboard. Those 2-way portable radiotelephone apparatus shall be of explosion-proof type or intrinsically safe. Existing ships shall comply with the requirement latest by 1 July 2018. Resolution MSC.338(91) & Resolution MSC. 339(91), Fire Fighters Communication (Solas-II 2 regulation 10).
