There are some new regulations of the IMO Polar Code for existing vessels, which are in force on 1st January 2018. Vessels that will call the polar area will need some additional special safety equipment on board. Peters + Bey has prepared some equipment kits according to the rules. In case that this regulation will apply to a part of your fleet, please let us know.

A minimum of two 2-way-portable radiotelephone apparatus for each fire party for fire-fighter’s communication shall be carried onboard. Those 2-way portable radiotelephone apparatus shall be of explosion-proof type or intrinsically safe. Existing ships shall comply with the requirement since1 July 2018.
